Rogers wins 2008 Build Georgia Award for Gwinnett County Animal Welfare and Enforcement Center

Jun 20 2008

The Georgia Branch of the AGC awarded Rogers Construction Co. the 2008 Build Georgia Award for their Gwinnett County Animal Welfare and Enforcement Center in Lawrenceville.

Completed last year, the 40,000 square foot facility is equipped to house hundreds of animals, including farm animals and reptiles, in a humane and sanitary environment. In addition, the facility features surgical suits similar to those found at animal hospitals.

Through teamwork and dedication, Rogers Construction was able to balance the need for not only a specialized and efficient building in which to better house animals, but also the need to create an attractive building for the community.

The Center is expected to receive an estimate of 15,000 stray or abandoned animals over the course of a year.

“The teamwork that went into it between us, the architect and owner, is what makes it stand out. We were able to assist the design team in several instances that worked out problems, made it more user-friendly and appealing to the public,” said Rogers Construction Safety Director Ricky Vickery.

Ashton Woods Rehabilitation Center selected for 2008 Build Georgia Award

Jun 10 2008

The Georgia Branch of the AGC awarded Rogers Construction with the 2008 Build Georgia Award for their outstanding work on the Ashton Woods Rehabilitation Center in Atlanta.

During the 10-month renovation project, the Rogers team managed to renovate the entire 49,000 square foot, 157-bed complex while it remained fully occupied and functioning normally. The project was completed without a single safety incident.

“It would have been a difficulty enough job had it not been occupied,” said Project Manager Derek Hearn.”  “The fact it was occupied made it that much more difficult.”

The Center was further recognized by AGC as the recipient of the Merit Award in the Best Sustainable Building Practices Division.

Thank you to everyone at Ashton Woods and UHS - Pruitt Corporation and to David R. Polston, Architect.
